A mother spoke out at the Republican National Convention about the release of the individuals responsible for her Army veteran son’s murder in New York City. Madeline Brame criticized Manhattan’s Democratic District Attorney Alvin Bragg for his handling of the case.
Brame’s son, Sgt. Hason Correa, was killed by a group of four people outside a Harlem apartment building six years ago. She expressed her disappointment in Bragg’s approach to the case, stating that the offenders were initially facing justice before Bragg took office.
Two of the individuals involved in Correa’s death had their charges dismissed under Bragg’s administration. Brame highlighted the lenient treatment of these perpetrators and criticized Bragg’s “soft-on-crime” stance.
Despite some offenders being convicted and serving prison sentences, Brame pointed out the release of one individual after a short time served. She described her negative experience with Bragg’s office during the prosecution of her son’s attackers.
Brame also drew a connection between her situation and the legal troubles faced by former President Donald Trump, emphasizing shared values of faith, family, and patriotism. She praised Trump for standing up against corruption and injustice.
