Former President Trump Launches New Attacks on Vice President Harris
Former President Donald Trump criticized Vice President Kamala Harris in front of a conservative audience, connecting her to Biden administration policies on immigration and crime, as well as taking shots at the state of California and the pronunciation of her name.
Speaking at the Turning Point Action Believers’ Summit, Trump reiterated his claims that the 2020 election was “rigged” and discussed issues such as the end of Roe v. Wade and the influx of criminals into the U.S. from other countries.
Trump’s speech, his second public address since President Biden withdrew from the race and endorsed Harris, highlighted his efforts to regroup against his new Democratic opponent.
Recent polls have shown a closer race between Trump and Harris compared to Trump and Biden, leading Republicans to struggle to find effective lines of attack against her. Trump acknowledged the tougher competition during a rally in Charlotte, North Carolina, and hinted at potentially backing out of a scheduled presidential debate with Harris.
During his speech in West Palm Beach, Trump credited Biden’s withdrawal from the race to his debate performance and shifted his focus to criticizing Harris, calling her a “bum” and attacking her stance on various issues.
Trump accused Harris of supporting extreme abortion policies, appointing a “hardcore Marxist” to the Supreme Court, and not liking Jewish people despite her husband being Jewish. He also questioned the voting preferences of Jews and Catholics in the U.S.
Responding to Trump’s remarks, a spokesperson for the Harris campaign dismissed his comments as “bitter, bizarre, and backward-looking delusions” and emphasized Harris’s vision for America’s future.
Concluding his speech, Trump urged Christians to vote in the upcoming election, promising that the country would be “fixed” within four years.
