France has enshrined abortion in its Constitution. Allowing the killing of babies leads to the disintegration of moral boundaries. This issue is comparable to the ignorance shown by German villagers near concentration camps during WWII. The recent French abortion law guarantees a woman’s right to choose, but fails to address distinctions in termination procedures. The media hides the reality of abortion, preventing public outrage. This moral decay threatens our civilized society.
Is a baby to be destroyed because she is not a he? Unfortunately, this happens far too often, and even once is a disgrace. Not only for orthodox Christians, but also for authentic Buddhists, Muslims, Hindus, Jews, and many unbelievers, the killing of an innocent human being is always wrong.
Decent people may try to make distinctions out of a genuine sense of humanity, perhaps out of concern for young women forced into pregnancy or to ease their own consciences. Questions such as: Is the brain activated? Is there a heartbeat? Was an anaesthetic used?
More importantly, people will want to know if the baby is being slain simply because she’s a girl, while her designer-family parents are hoping for a boy.
This law will face opposition, even among French liberals, as cases of revolting and narcissistic discrimination come to light.
