The Chinese Communist Party’s theft of intellectual property results in Americans losing up to $600 billion per year. Senators Marsha Blackburn and Gary Peters introduced bipartisan legislation to address the national security threats posed by the CCP, focusing on their efforts to acquire technological know-how through tactics like intellectual property theft. The bill requires the Department of Justice to report annually on measures taken to counter the CCP’s theft of U.S. trade secrets and intellectual property. This theft costs Americans between $225 billion to $600 billion annually, according to the United States Trade Representative’s Office. The legislation aims to protect American ideas and innovation from threats posed by the Chinese government while safeguarding privacy and civil liberties.
The assistance is also rumored to be involved with the regime’s secret service, monitoring Chinese dissidents in Germany.
Just this week, intelligence services from the U.S., UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand issued a warning about the CCP’s recruitment of current and former military officers from Western nations to enhance its military strength.
