A British YouTuber and rapper known as Yung Filly has been accused of raping and choking a woman in a hotel room after a music performance in Australia.
The 29-year-old, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, appeared in court in Perth, where the alleged crimes took place on Sept. 28. He was released on bail under strict conditions.
Barrientos must stay in Western Australia, have no contact with the alleged victim, and refrain from discussing the case on social media. Additionally, he surrendered his passport, must report to police daily, and provided a surety of 100,000 Australian dollars ($67,400).
Despite opposition from prosecutors due to flight risk, Barrientos’ lawyer, Seamus Rafferty, did not comment on the case.
Barrientos, who has a significant following on YouTube, was arrested in Brisbane and extradited back to Perth as part of his Australian tour.
The allegations state that he assaulted a woman in her 20s in a hotel room following a performance at a nightclub in Perth.
Charged with multiple offenses including rape, assault causing bodily harm, and impeding the woman’s breathing, Barrientos started his YouTube career in 2013 and music career in 2017.
He has also appeared in various television programs and won a MOBO Award for Best Media Personality in 2021.
