A suspect has been apprehended and charged in the killing of a groundbreaking musician whose body was discovered lying face-down in a pool of blood inside a private ambulette in the Bronx, the police revealed on Friday.
Sharief Bodden, aged 29 and from the Bronx, faces charges of second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter, and possession of drugs and weapons in connection to the death of Peter Forrest, 64, who was found inside the parked bus on Castle Hill Avenue around 10:30 a.m. on Monday, as per law enforcement.
Forrest, an employee of Long Island-based Marquis Ambulette, was pronounced dead at the scene with injuries all over his body, officials stated.
The circumstances surrounding his murder are still unclear.
The victim, who resided about 5 miles away in the Allerton neighborhood, was a member of the original lineup of South Bronx-based rock band 24-7 Spyz under the alias P. Fluid, according to the Daily News.
The band had previously opened for Jane’s Addiction on their Ritual de lo Habitual tour. Forrest later went on to create P.Fluid and the P.Fluid Foundation before embarking on his solo project, BlkVampires.
Forrest was one of the founders of the Black Rock Coalition, as stated by his former partner, who described him as a kind individual passionate about music and dedicated to promoting black rock.
The cause of death will be determined by the city’s medical examiner’s office, according to the authorities.
