The NYPD Arrests Suspect in Brutal Bronx Hit-and-Run
Authorities have apprehended one individual in connection with a violent hit-and-run incident in the Bronx, captured on security camera footage.
According to the NYPD, a 22-year-old pedestrian was struck by a black SUV at the intersection of E 228th Street and Laconia Avenue in the Edenwald neighborhood of the Bronx.
Video footage of the incident, obtained by The New York Post, shows a man jogging across the street as a black SUV approaches the intersection.
As the 22-year-old pedestrian reaches the corner, the SUV accelerates and strikes him, sending him airborne into the intersection.
The SUV then speeds away from the scene, leaving the injured victim behind.
The victim was transported to Jacobi Medical Center with a head injury and is currently in stable condition.
The NYPD has taken a person of interest into custody, although charges have not yet been filed.
