A tragic incident occurred at Jameson’s Pub in Santa Monica, resulting in the death of a beloved California bar manager. The manager was punched by a patron, Leonard Hector Korpie, after asking rowdy customers to leave the establishment.
Reports suggest that Korpie delivered a fatal blow to the manager during a scuffle outside the pub. The manager, who remains unidentified, lost consciousness and stopped breathing before police arrived at the scene.
Efforts to revive the manager with CPR were made by the police and Santa Monica Fire Department, but unfortunately, he did not survive and passed away at the hospital.
According to KTLA, the victim was a man in his early 50s. Korpie and two other individuals involved in the altercation were arrested and taken into custody.
A spokesperson for Jameson’s Pub expressed shock and sadness over the loss of the manager, describing him as a well-respected member of their team who will be deeply missed by both customers and staff.
Korpie, a resident of Venice, has been charged with murder and is currently held on a $2 million bail. The other suspects involved have not been named in official statements, and it is unclear if they have been released from custody.
Located approximately a mile from the iconic Santa Monica Pier, Jameson’s Pub now mourns the loss of their esteemed manager, who was well-regarded by both patrons and staff.
