A wildfire in San Bernardino County, California, prompted evacuations for residents near Seven Oaks as the Line Fire flared up despite being largely contained.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department issued evacuation orders for Seven Oaks and warnings for Angelus Oaks and the Boulder Bay area along Big Bear Lake due to the surge in the fire on Sunday afternoon.
According to a social media post from the San Bernardino National Forest, the Line Fire had spread over 62.6 square miles with 83 percent containment and 1,176 personnel working to control the blaze.
Justin Wayne Halstenberg, a California man, pleaded not guilty to starting the fire that led to the Line Fire. He faces 11 arson-related charges for fires started on Sept. 5, one of which escalated into the Line Fire, endangering thousands of homes and injuring firefighters.
