A heartless thief violently dragged a woman and fractured her arm while snatching her bag at a popular SoHo bar, according to police reports this week.
The victim, a 54-year-old woman, was seated at Kenn’s Broome Street Bar around 9:50 p.m. on Aug. 31 when an unknown individual attempted to grab her purse from the chair next to her, authorities stated.
As the victim tried to retrieve her bag, the thief pulled the woman along with the purse, resulting in a broken left arm, as per police reports.
The thief fled from the bar located on Broome Street and West Broadway with approximately $1,400 worth of the victim’s belongings, as reported by the police.
The woman, who sustained a broken arm during the attack, was transported to New York Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital, where she was reported to be in stable condition by the police.
An image of the suspect, who is still at large, was released by the NYPD on Thursday, showing him on the phone while passing through a subway turnstile.
Anyone with information regarding the robbery is urged to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or in Spanish at 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
