The Canadian government has allocated $3 million for the production of drones in Ukraine to support Kyiv in its fight against Russia’s invasion.
Defence Minister Bill Blair announced that this financial assistance is a joint effort with the United Kingdom. Additionally, $13 million has been earmarked for the Czech Republic to provide ammunition to Ukraine.
These funding allocations were part of last year’s commitment by the Liberal government to provide $500 million in military support. Mr. Blair also gave an update on previously pledged donations, stating that the first wave of armoured vehicles and 10 tactical boats promised to Ukraine are expected to be delivered this summer.
