A suspect, Rhanni S. Davis, 30, has been charged with four counts of first-degree murder after allegedly shooting and killing four passengers on a Chicago Transit Authority Blue Line train. The victims were asleep when the shooting occurred around 5:30 a.m.
Upon arrival at the Forest Park station, CTA workers alerted the authorities. Three victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while the fourth victim was taken to Loyola University Medical Center where they were also pronounced dead.
The victims have been identified as Adrian Collins, 60, Simeon Bihesi, 28, and two others whose identities have not yet been disclosed.
Davis fled the scene but was apprehended on the CTA’s Pink Line. A firearm was recovered during his arrest.
The CTA condemned the violent act, stating, “This heinous and egregious act of violence should never have occurred, nonetheless on a public transit train.”
Surveillance footage reportedly showed Davis walking through a train car and shooting three victims who were seated separately. The fourth victim was in a different car at the time of the incident.
