The Upper East Side stabbing that resulted in one man’s death and another man being seriously wounded on Sunday was due to a violent dispute between the two individuals who had met on Grindr, according to law enforcement sources.
A 27-year-old man had invited another man from the gay dating app to his apartment in a five-story rental building on East 95th Street near Second Avenue around 1:30 p.m. The visitor suddenly expressed, “I hate all people,” before allegedly pulling out a knife and stabbing the apartment dweller multiple times, as per the sources.
The resident then defended himself by grabbing a kitchen knife and stabbing the aggressor in the chest and neck, according to the sources.
Police discovered the visitor unconscious and unresponsive, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 27-year-old man, who sustained multiple lacerations, was in serious but stable condition at Weill Cornell Medical Center, according to the sources.
