A perpetrator is on the loose after sexually assaulting a teenage girl inside an Upper West Side subway station on Wednesday night, as reported by the NYPD.
The suspect targeted the 16-year-old while she was standing on the northbound “1” train island platform at the 96th Street station around 8:45 p.m., according to law enforcement.
He “touched her under her clothing” before fleeing the station, but not before making an obscene gesture to a bystander who took his picture.
The alleged assailant’s face was covered by a mask in the image. He was dressed in a black sweatshirt and sweatpants with a white undershirt.
His hair was partially shaved, with the longer strands braided down his neck.
The victim did not sustain any physical injuries, and the investigation is currently ongoing.
