Authorities are searching for a suspect who viciously attacked an elderly woman by kicking her down the stairs of a subway station in Queens.
The incident occurred at the Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue station around 11:13 p.m. on Saturday, according to the NYPD. The 72-year-old victim was kicked from behind by a stranger, causing her to fall backward down the staircase.
The assailant did not utter a word before assaulting the woman as she was ascending the staircase, the authorities stated.
The victim sustained severe injuries and was transported to NYC Health and Hospital/Elmhurst for medical attention.
On Sunday, the NYPD released surveillance footage of the suspect, who reportedly boarded a northbound F train following the attack.
The images depict a man with dark hair dressed in a black jacket, red shirt, blue jeans, and black and white Nike sneakers.

As of Monday, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
