Elon Musk was revealed as the sole funder of a super PAC called RBG PAC, which emerged in the final weeks leading up to the election. Musk donated $20.5 million to the group on Oct. 24, with the disclosure of his support coming after the election.
The RBG PAC focused its spending on advertising, specifically claiming that Donald Trump shared Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s stance on abortion. The ads implied that Ginsburg and Trump were aligned on the issue, despite Ginsburg’s opposition to Trump appointing her successor, Amy Coney Barrett.
In addition to his support for RBG PAC, Musk has been a significant donor to Republican causes. He has invested heavily in his own super PAC, America PAC, and also contributed to other political groups associated with GOP figures such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Rep. Ken Calvert.
