A former JetBlue employee, Dillon D. Vista, was arrested for making a phony bomb threat at the TWA Hotel at JFK International Airport. He allegedly left a cellphone with a note that read “explosive device” in the hotel lobby.
Vista, who was fired by the airline during the COVID-19 pandemic, called the Port Authority Police Department to report the bomb threat after leaving the cellphone in the hotel.
The bomb threat turned out to be fake, and Vista was arrested at Jamaica Station after surveillance footage identified him near the hotel and fleeing via the AirTrain.
Vista had been let go from the airline years prior, and he had a restraining order against him for harassing JetBlue employees after his termination.
JetBlue CEO Joanna Geraghty received bizarre emails from Vista requesting his job back, as he posted on Instagram urging followers to help bring him back to the airline.
Vista’s last known address is a Brooklyn homeless shelter, and JetBlue did not provide a comment on the incident.
