A FedEx contract worker has been arrested for allegedly dumping numerous packages in the woods to avoid working late.
Latavion Lewis, a contracted worker from Alabama, was apprehended after reports surfaced of FedEx packages strewn along the roadside and in a wooded area near a post office in Bonifay, Florida, during the busiest delivery season of the year.
Lewis confessed to law enforcement that he discarded the packages instead of returning them to the FedEx warehouse because he was working late, according to the sheriff’s office.
Authorities have recovered 44 packages so far
