Alicia Brea, 18, Arrested for Allegedly Stomping on Baby’s Head
An 18-year-old woman from Hollywood, Florida, identified as Alicia Brea, was taken into custody and charged with one count of child cruelty without causing great bodily harm. This came after she allegedly sent a photo of herself appearing to stomp on her 10-month-old baby’s head in a disturbing attempt to win back her ex-partner.
According to a report by Law & Crime, Brea sent the image to the child’s father and a friend. The friend, alarmed by the photo, reported the incident to the authorities.
In an affidavit of probable cause, Broward County deputies stated that Brea admitted to sending the photo to her ex-partner in an attempt to make him come back to her after their breakup earlier that day.
Responding officers noted that the baby was unharmed and wearing the same outfit as in the photo when they arrived.
Authorities found the incriminating photo on Brea’s phone after she consented to a search. Brea claimed to have also sent pictures of the child unharmed to the father to prove that she would never harm the baby.
Following her arrest, Child Protective Services was called, and Brea was transferred to Broward County Jail. She was later released on $20,000 bond with conditions, including wearing a GPS monitor, no contact with the child, and undergoing a mental health evaluation.
She was also ordered to comply with the doctor’s recommendations following the evaluation within 10 days, as reported by WPLG.
This disturbing incident sheds light on the importance of mental health and the well-being of children in troubled relationships.
