Authorities are suspecting foul play after two Kansas mothers, Veronica Butler and Jilian Kelley, disappeared while traveling in Oklahoma. Their car was found abandoned in a remote area of the state.
Veronica Butler, 27, and Jilian Kelley, 39, went missing in a rural part of Texas County near Highway 95 and Road L. The Oklahoma State Bureau has revealed evidence indicating foul play in their disappearance.
Butler and Kelley were on a trip to pick up Butler’s two children in Eva, Oklahoma, when they vanished. The car was found abandoned near a school Butler had graduated from.
Jilian Kelley, a mother of four, was accompanying Butler to help with a custody issue. The Texas County Sheriff’s Department issued an Endangered Missing Advisory for the two mothers.
Both women were members of the Hugoton First Christian Church in Kansas. Kelley, the wife of a preacher, was actively involved in volunteer work at the church.
The community is urged to spread awareness and pray for the safe return of Butler and Kelley. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not made any arrests in connection with the disappearance.
Public Information Manager Hunter Mckee stated that there is reason to believe the women could be in danger due to the circumstances of their disappearance.
