The Senate race in Arizona is the only one that has not yet been called. Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.) has seen his lead over Republican Kari Lake grow in the last uncalled U.S. Senate race from the 2024 election. Gallego is currently ahead by 2.2 percent, or 66,305 votes, according to unofficial results from the Arizona Secretary of State’s Office from Nov. 10. With eight precincts still counting ballots, Gallego has 1.55 million votes compared to Lake’s 1.49 million. Maricopa County, the state’s most populous, recently reported about 97,000 more ballots with an estimated 202,000 still uncounted. The race between Gallego and Lake is the only Senate race that remains uncalled, with both candidates expressing confidence in their eventual victory. The Associated Press has already called Arizona for President-elect Donald Trump, stating that Vice President Kamala Harris would not be able to close the gap. Gallego, a military veteran and congressman since 2015, is competing against Lake, a former television anchor, to fill the seat of Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-Ariz.). Sinema, who left the Democratic Party in 2022, chose not to seek re-election. The Republicans have secured several victories in the current election, including in Montana, and will hold the majority in the upper chamber when the new Congress convenes in January 2025. In other Arizona races, several representatives have been projected as winners, including Andy Biggs, Eli Crane, Paul Gosar, Raul Grijalva, David Schweikert, and Greg Stanton. Additionally, Yassamin Ansari won the seat vacated by Gallego in the 3rd Congressional District, while Rep. Juan Ciscomani was fighting for another term in the 6th Congressional District. In the 8th Congressional District, Abraham Hamadeh was projected to win over Gregory Whitten for the seat previously held by Rep. Debbie Lesko.
