Clive Palmer, the colorful billionaire known for his unconventional ventures, has received approval for his latest project—a massive car museum in Australia.
The museum will showcase vintage vehicles worth over $200 million and is set to be located west of Brisbane after a previous location was rejected due to objections from locals.
With approval from the Somerset Council, the museum will feature more than 1000 cars and 300 motorcycles, aiming to boost tourism in the region.
This is not the first time Mr. Palmer has ventured into unique projects. He previously owned an A-League club and created a dinosaur theme park next to his resort, featuring a 10-meter animatronic T-rex named Jeff.
Despite setbacks in the past, including the destruction of Palmersaurus due to a fire, Mr. Palmer remains undeterred in his ambitious plans.
The new car museum will consist of 11 buildings for vehicle displays, accommodation units, a cafe, and a gift shop, making it the largest car museum in the country.
Construction is set to begin in 2025, creating job opportunities and providing a significant economic boost to the region.
Mr. Palmer and the Somerset Council are optimistic about the success of this project and the positive impact it will have on the community.
