MOSCOW—Tragedy struck in Russia’s central Kirov region on Saturday when a Mi-2 helicopter crashed, claiming the lives of all four individuals on board, as confirmed by emergency officials.
The helicopter, with one pilot, a doctor, and two paramedics on board, went down in a forest near the village of Beleenki, approximately 700 kilometers (435 miles) east of Moscow, according to a statement released online by Russia’s Emergency Ministry.
Initially, rescuers recovered three bodies from the crash site, but later found the fourth victim, the ministry disclosed.
No information on the cause of the crash was immediately provided by the authorities.
The Mi-2, a small Soviet-designed helicopter, is commonly utilized for various purposes.
