The recall of 2023-2025 Honda models is due to a potential fuel leak that poses a risk of fire, crash, or injury. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced on Oct. 22 that Honda is recalling approximately 720,810 vehicles in the United States. The recall affects various models, including the Honda Accord, Accord Hybrid, CR-V Hybrid, and Civic. The high-pressure fuel pump in these vehicles may develop cracks, leading to fuel leakage and increasing the risk of fire. The defect is due to improper manufacturing of the fuel pump’s solenoid core. Honda has not received any reports of injuries or crashes related to the defect but has initiated the recall voluntarily. Registered owners will receive official notification starting Dec. 4. Honda dealerships will offer a free inspection and replacement of the defective fuel pump. Drivers are urged to contact their dealer if they notice a fuel odor, even before receiving the formal recall notice. Honda will submit quarterly status reports regarding the recall’s progress.
