Early on Tuesday, a ten-story hotel building in the coastal city of Villa Gesell, Argentina’s Buenos Aires Province, collapsed, according to a statement from the local municipality.
Between seven to nine individuals, including workers from a construction site that was reportedly operating without municipal permits at the Dubrovnik hotel, were believed to have been inside at the time of the collapse, as per the statement.
Rescue teams are currently working to remove the debris to rescue those who may be trapped, the Villa Gesell authorities stated. They also mentioned that construction work at the site had been stopped by the municipality in August of this year.
