A Las Vegas man is accused of shooting his ex-wife and killing her new girlfriend in a jealous rage after she ended their relationship. Adrian Rodriguez-Guillen, 41, had reportedly threatened to harm them months before the incident.
On January 3, Rodriguez-Guillen blocked in his ex-wife’s new girlfriend, Adriana Herrera, as she tried to pick up his ex-wife, and allegedly shot her to death. He had concealed his car to prevent the women from seeing him.
When Herrera managed to drive away, Rodriguez-Guillen followed them, cut her off, and confronted her with a rifle. He shot Herrera multiple times, even after his ex-wife tried to protect her.
After realizing he had also injured his ex-wife, Rodriguez-Guillen called the police and turned himself in. Herrera was pronounced dead at the scene, while his ex-wife was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Authorities revealed that Rodriguez-Guillen and his ex-wife had been in a long-term relationship, even after their divorce, but she ended it to be with Herrera. This decision enraged Rodriguez-Guillen, who had a history of jealousy and control.
Rodriguez-Guillen is facing charges of murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, burglary, and other offenses. He was denied bail and is scheduled to appear in court on February 19.
