House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) commemorated the 76th anniversary of Israeli independence during a speech at a celebration in Washington. Mr. Johnson reflected on the history of Israel, stating, “After years of homelessness and persecution, in May 1948, a new nation was born based on the precepts of liberty and justice and peace, taught by the Hebrew prophets.”
