Bronx drill rapper Kay Flock was recently convicted of several federal charges related to a 2021 fatal shooting in the Bronx, including attempted murder. Despite the guilty verdict, the rapper, whose real name is Kevin Perez, took to Instagram to boast about beating the top count and making the judge cry, claiming that he might not receive a life sentence. He defiantly declared, “Never fold, never will.”
Perez is scheduled for sentencing on July 16.
Kay Flock and seven of his associates were implicated in a series of shootings in the Bronx between 2020 and 2022, culminating in the tragic death of 24-year-old Hwascar Hernandez.
Hernandez was fatally shot outside a Harlem barbershop on December 16, 2021. He was struck in the neck and back while attempting to flee the scene.
Perez’s defense team claimed that the shooting was an act of self-defense.
After two days of deliberation, the jury delivered their verdict on Thursday.
