A woman from Kentucky was arrested by police after they discovered a dismembered and partially cooked body at her residence. Torilena Fields, 32, of Mount Olivet, was apprehended on charges of abuse of a corpse, tampering with physical evidence, and obstructing governmental operations. Authorities found body parts in a mattress in her backyard and in a pot that was warm to the touch in her kitchen oven.
The police were alerted to the situation after a maintenance worker hired by Torilena’s mother, Trudy, could not gain entry to the house and discovered the gruesome scene in the backyard. The worker reported a confrontation with Fields the day before the arrest, during which she was allegedly casting spells and behaving aggressively.
Law enforcement officers arrived at the residence and obtained a warrant to search the premises. Fields emerged from the house covered in blood, and investigators found body parts scattered throughout the home, including in the kitchen oven and a mattress in the backyard.
It is unknown whether Fields ingested any of the body parts. She was booked at the Bourbon County Detention Center the following day.
