A Kentucky woman was arrested after a dismembered body was found in her mother’s backyard in Mount Olivet. Human remains were later discovered on the property as well.
The Kentucky State Police were called after a man working on the property found the body in the backyard. Upon arrival, officers saw the dismembered corpse in the grass.
Authorities obtained a search warrant for the home and called in a special response team. The woman inside the house, identified as 32-year-old Torilena May Fields, initially refused to come out. After deploying gas and using a robot to communicate with Fields, she exited the house without incident later that night. She was found with blood on her face, hands, and clothing.
Fields is facing charges of abusing a corpse, evidence tampering, and obstructing government operations. Additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues. She is scheduled to be arraigned next week.
During the search of the home, officers discovered human remains in a steel pot in the oven.
The man who alerted police mentioned seeing Fields and her mother, Trudy Fields, on the property the evening before. He reported that Torilena Fields was acting erratically and may have been under the influence of drugs.
The victim was identified as Torilena Fields’ mother, Trudy Fields.
