Knight’s Choice has caused a major upset by winning the prestigious Melbourne Cup in a thrilling photo finish, narrowly beating out Japanese contender Warp Speed.
Ridden by talented Irish jockey Robbie Dolan, Knight’s Choice showed incredible determination as he surged ahead of the competition, securing victory for trainers John Symons and Sheila Laxon.
This triumph marked Dolan’s debut in the Melbourne Cup, and he expressed his overwhelming emotions after the race.
“I didn’t know what to expect, but I feel like I’ve been through it a hundred times in my mind,” Dolan shared with Nine Network.
“To win in front of my father Bobby, my daughter Maisy, and my partner Christine is a moment I will cherish forever. It brings tears to my eyes.”
“I owe this victory to the unwavering support and belief of Sheila and John. They had faith in Knight’s Choice from the beginning, even when others doubted. And I never lost faith in them either,” Dolan added.
