LOS ANGELES—Kristen Bell is set to host the Screen Actors Guild Awards next year, streaming live on Netflix for the second year in a row.
“I’m thrilled to be back and excited to spend the evening with my fellow actors, celebrating ourselves,” Bell said in a statement on Monday. The actress, known for her roles in “Nobody Wants This” and “The Good Place,” previously hosted the SAG Awards in 2018.
The 31st annual awards ceremony, which recognizes outstanding performances in film and television, will stream live on Netflix on Feb. 23 at 8 p.m. Eastern from the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles. Idris Elba hosted last year’s ceremony.
“Kristen Bell’s humor, warmth, and charisma make her the perfect choice for our show—a night dedicated to actors and the exceptional performances of the year,” said Jon Brockett, executive producer of the SAG Awards. “Plus, everybody wants this.”
Bell is not only an executive producer but also stars in the Netflix comedy series “Nobody Wants This” alongside Adam Brody. Her acting credits include “The People We Hate at the Wedding,” “The Woman in the House,” and “The Good Place” with Ted Danson. She has also lent her voice to Anna in Disney’s “Frozen” and appeared in films like “Queenpins” and “Forgetting Sarah Marshall.”
Jane Fonda will be receiving the SAG life achievement award during the ceremony.
The nominees for the awards will be announced on Jan. 8.
