The Louisiana Board of Education has teamed up with PragerU Kids to incorporate K-12 educational materials into the state curriculum for the upcoming school year. Founded by conservative radio host Dennis Prager, PragerU will provide resources to enhance classroom instruction statewide.
This exciting partnership will be officially announced at a teacher summit in New Orleans on May 28, where more than 7,500 educators are expected to attend.
Louisiana State Superintendent of Education Dr. Cade Brumley praised the collaboration, stating, “Louisiana led the way in adopting new, rigorous social studies standards that focus on American exceptionalism and our journey towards a more perfect union.”
PragerU CEO Marissa Streit outlined the organization’s goals with this partnership, explaining to The Epoch Times that “PragerU Kids aims to teach essential lessons for American classrooms and households nationwide.”
Streit emphasized that the provided materials will reinforce the idea that “America, though imperfect, remains a beacon of hope for human prosperity due to its founding principles.”
Key Partnership Details
The collaboration between PragerU and the state board of education involves aligning Louisiana’s social studies curriculum with PragerU content to supplement classroom materials.
Teachers will have access to short videos, typically around five minutes long, covering topics such as the Constitution, distinguishing between a Democracy and a Republic, and explaining the Electoral College.
Special supplemental materials have been reserved for the state’s “Freedom Week” in September. During this week, teachers will utilize approved resources that align with the week’s themes and lessons.
The Prager University Foundation, a nonprofit organization established over a decade ago, produces educational videos promoting traditional American values. Their website offers an alternative perspective to left-wing ideologies prevalent in culture, media, and education.
PragerU’s popularity stems from their “5-Minute Videos” series, condensing information on various topics such as politics, culture, and the economy into brief and informative segments.
According to PragerU’s website, PragerU Kids is recognized as the leading network providing educational, entertaining, pro-American kids shows for all grade levels.
Parental Expectations
Ms. Streit emphasized that parents and educators seek PragerU as a resource to counter radical and divisive materials on topics like diversity, equity, critical race theory, and the sexualization of children.
“Our materials are engaging, age-appropriate, and align with state standards and Common Core requirements,” Streit told The Epoch Times. She highlighted that PragerU Kids’ resources, including videos, magazines, worksheets, and lesson plans, are available for free on PragerUkids.com.
PragerU’s partnerships now extend to states like Florida, Oklahoma, Montana, New Hampshire, and Arizona. The organization is also an official vendor in Texas, with PragerU Kids content accumulating over 26 million views across various platforms.
