A man in San Juan Capistrano, California, is expected to be booked on suspicion of killing his mother, father, and their dog in a mobile home, as announced by sheriffâs officials on July 10.
The suspect, identified as Joseph Brandon Gerdvil, 41, allegedly murdered his parents, 77-year-old Ronald Walter Gerdvil and 79-year-old Antoinette Gerdvill, on Tuesday.
According to the Orange County Sheriffâs Department, deputies responded to a âdomestic incidentâ around 7:30 a.m. in the 32000 block of Alipaz Street.
Upon arrival at the San Juan Mobile Estates complex, deputies discovered the bodies of the victims and their dog. The suspect was identified as Joseph Gerdvil, who was later found by deputies covered in blood, chasing a maintenance worker, and stealing a golf cart. A confrontation ensued, resulting in the suspect being shot by a deputy near Calle Arroyo.
The suspect was transported to a hospital in critical but stable condition. The motive behind the incident and whether the suspect was armed remain unclear.
