A bodega employee in Manhattan was stabbed in the neck by a maniac after confronting him for shoplifting inside the store on Wednesday morning, according to sources.
The incident occurred at the Food Market bodega on East 116 Street and Third Avenue in East Harlem around 10:40 a.m., with the attacker slicing the 24-year-old clerk, as reported by cops and sources.
The victim was taken to NYC Health+Hospitals/Harlem in stable condition by medics.
The suspect, reportedly homeless, fled southbound on Third Avenue and is currently on the run.
It remains uncertain whether any stolen items were taken by the perpetrator.
