A tragic incident occurred in Maryland where a soon-to-be grandfather lost his life after being struck in the head while trying to apologize to his neighbors for his dogs trespassing into their backyard, as reported by his grieving family.
On June 14, Marvin Guevara’s dogs managed to escape from his Boyd home through a hole in the fence and ended up on his neighbor’s property, according to the Montgomery County Police Department.
In an attempt to retrieve his dogs and offer an apology for the inconvenience caused, the 40-year-old Guevara went to his neighbor’s house, as shared by his daughter-in-law, Flor Flores to News4.
During the encounter, Guevara engaged in a verbal altercation with an unidentified female at the property, which escalated into a violent incident where the female struck him in the head, leading to his hospitalization.
A video captured by Flores during the altercation showed the female and an unidentified male arguing with Guevara before the situation turned physical, as per News4.
Following the altercation, Guevara’s health deteriorated, and on June 30, he tragically passed away. An autopsy is being conducted to determine the cause of his death by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, and the county’s Major Crimes Division is also investigating the incident.
Despite the lack of charges against the neighbors involved, they claimed that Guevara was trespassing on their property, without providing further details.
As the family mourns the loss of their loved one and seeks answers, they express outrage over the situation escalating to violence.
Guevara, known for his kindness and generosity, was an active member of his church. His daughter-in-law expressed sorrow that his first grandchild, a granddaughter due next month, will never have the chance to meet him.
Reflecting on their shared dreams, Flores recalled Guevara’s plans to teach his granddaughter how to walk and ride a horse, highlighting the void left by his untimely death.
