Startling video footage captures a daring smash-and-grab robbery at a jewelry store in Connecticut, where two masked thieves used sledgehammers to break into the establishment.
The video, released by Westport police, shows the incident at Lux, Bond, and Green on Main Street around 3:10 p.m. on a Thursday. The quiet scenes quickly turn chaotic as the two individuals, dressed in dark clothing with covered faces and orange gloves, storm the store.
One of the thieves starts breaking a display case while the other grabs jewelry from another. In a matter of seconds, they flee the scene with the stolen goods, leaving behind chaos.
According to police, the suspects made off with jewelry in less than 30 seconds before fleeing in a black BMW sedan towards Fairfield on Post Road East. Thankfully, no employees were harmed during the incident as they safely retreated to the back of the store.
The brazen daylight robbery has left the community shocked, and the authorities are actively investigating the incident to apprehend the suspects.
