Mike Kehoe Wins Missouri GOP Nomination for Governor

Lt. Gov. Mike Kehoe emerged victorious in a three-way race for the Republican Party’s nomination, positioning himself as the frontrunner to secure the Missouri governor’s mansion in November. Missouri Republican primary voters chose Kehoe over his closest GOP rivals, with Kehoe capturing 39.4 percent of the vote compared to Missouri state Sen. Bill Eigel’s 32.5 percent and Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft’s 23.3 percent. Kehoe, endorsed by outgoing Gov. Mike Parson, emphasized the importance of unity within the party to combat unfavorable policies coming from Washington. With his experience in state government leadership, Kehoe campaigned on providing commonsense conservative solutions. He will face Democratic candidate Crystal Quade in the general election, holding a significant advantage due to the GOP’s control of the state’s executive branch and legislature. Despite facing challenges from his opponents, Kehoe’s fundraising efforts and support from key figures in the state contributed to his successful primary bid. Eigel, known for his outsider status and controversial ads, urged his supporters to remain optimistic following his defeat.
