A couple in Missouri had their wedding night turn into a nightmare when masked gunmen entered their backyard reception and shot the groom in the head during an attempted robbery. The shocking incident took place in front of the bride and guests, leaving everyone traumatized.
Manuel and Dulce Gonzalez, who had been together for over a decade and already had two children, celebrated their love with around 50 close friends and family in their St. Louis home. However, the joyous occasion took a tragic turn when armed robbers disrupted the festivities.
Two gunmen wearing ski masks barged into the backyard, threatening guests and demanding money as the night drew to a close. One of the criminals shot Manuel Gonzalez in the head while the other searched through the guests’ pockets. The assailants fled the scene without taking anything, leaving the family and friends in shock.
Manuel Gonzalez, 32, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. A GoFundMe page was set up to support the family during this difficult time. The bride’s sister, Yaribeth Peña, described the harrowing experience and how quickly the situation escalated.
Security footage from the couple’s Ring Doorbell captured the suspects approaching the house and fleeing after the shooting. Despite ongoing investigations, no arrests have been made in the case.
Manuel Gonzalez’s father-in-law provided an update on his condition, stating that he is still critical but has shown some signs of movement. Peña expressed her sister’s distress over the incident and the uncertainty of her husband’s recovery.
The family is urging the community to come forward with any information or video footage that could help identify the suspects. Peña emphasized the need for safety measures and the support of the community during this challenging time.
As they navigate the aftermath of the violent incident, the family remains hopeful for Manuel Gonzalez’s recovery and seeks justice for the senseless act that marred what was meant to be a day of celebration and love.
