Justin White is facing federal charges after allegedly making violent threats against former President Donald Trump, Republicans, and law enforcement officials on social media. The criminal complaint, filed in the Western District of Missouri on Aug. 30, accuses White of using interstate communication to spread threats to injure Trump, Republicans, and law enforcement officers in violation of federal law. The FBI led a multi-agency investigation into White’s actions, which included posting threatening messages on platforms like TikTok and Facebook from late July to August.
One of White’s videos, posted around July 31, contained explicit threats of violence towards Republicans and law enforcement if his demands regarding electoral fairness were not met. The Springfield, Missouri, Police Department received a tip about the video and forwarded it to the FBI for further action.
Law enforcement discovered additional threatening posts on White’s Facebook page, including a post dated Aug. 22 that featured a photograph of a firearm and ammunition. In this post, White warned any police officer approaching his residence would be met with violence. During a search of White’s residence on Aug. 29, FBI agents recovered firearms, ammunition, and evidence supporting the charges.
White admitted to creating the threatening posts during his arrest and interview, expressing regret and acknowledging posting them out of anger. He described a past altercation with a police officer and cited videos of alleged police aggression as fueling his hatred towards law enforcement.
White is currently in custody and could face up to five years in prison and/or a fine of $250,000 if convicted. A preliminary and detention hearing is scheduled for Sept. 5. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Missouri had no further comment, and White’s attorney did not respond to a request for comment from The Epoch Times.
