A food vendor in Hell’s Kitchen was brutally attacked by a mugger with a metal pipe, resulting in broken teeth and a theft of $3,500, authorities reported.
The 36-year-old vendor was working late at night on Tuesday at the intersection of West 49th Street and Eighth Avenue when the assailant approached him. The attacker proceeded to strike the vendor in the face and body with various objects, including the metal pipe, before stealing $3,500 from him and fleeing into the nearby 50th Street subway station, according to police sources.
