Following their return from space, a NASA astronaut who was briefly hospitalized has been discharged, as confirmed by the space agency on Saturday.
NASA’s Matthew Dominick, Michael Barratt, and Jeanette Epps, along with Russia’s Alexander Grebenkin, were transported to the hospital for further medical evaluations on Friday after landing in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Florida in a SpaceX capsule.
While three of them were released and have returned to Houston, one NASA astronaut, whose identity was not disclosed, was kept for observation due to an unspecified medical concern. The space agency cited patient privacy and refrained from revealing more details about the astronaut’s condition, except for confirming that they are in good health and will resume normal post-flight reconditioning with the rest of the crew.
The crew had initially arrived at the International Space Station in March and were scheduled to return to Earth two months ago. However, their return was postponed due to issues with Boeing’s new Starliner astronaut capsule and Hurricane Milton.
