Since its inception in 1996, he has been with the network.
Veteran Fox News anchor Neil Cavuto is set to depart the network after a 28-year career.
The 66-year-old broadcaster has hosted âYour Worldâ since Fox Newsâ inception in 1996.
âNeil Cavutoâs illustrious career has been a master class in journalism and weâre extremely proud of his incredible 28-year run with FOX News Media,â the network said in a statement confirming the departure.
âHis programs have defined business news and set the standard for the entire industry. We wish him a heartfelt farewell and all the best on his next chapter.â
Cavuto hosts three programs across Fox News and its sister channel, Fox Business Network: the weekday shows âYour Worldâ and âCavuto: Coast to Coast,â as well as the weekend program âCavuto Live.â Combined, these accounted for 12 hours of weekly programming. As of now, Fox News has not announced a successor for any of these shows.
Beyond his on-air duties, Cavuto also served as a vice president at Fox Business Network.
The long-time anchor has been open about his health challenges. He has battled multiple sclerosis, underwent open-heart surgery in 2016, and survived cancer. In 2022, Cavuto took a five-week leave from anchoring after contracting COVID-19 for the second time, a severe bout that sent him to the intensive care unit.
Cavuto served as a moderator for the second Republican presidential primary debate in 2015. Unlike many at Fox, he has not interviewed President-elect Donald Trump since his first term, and his relationship with Trump has become contentious over the years.
On his shows, Cavuto often challenged Trumpâs claims, such as whether hydroxychloroquine is a safe preventive measure against COVID-19 and who shoulders the tariffs on Chinese imports.
Cavutoâs departure follows several high-profile exits across major cable news networks.
