A New Jersey elementary school teacher, Laura Caron, faced charges of sexually abusing a 13-year-old former student and getting pregnant by him, as reported by the New York Post. She even threw a baby shower for herself to celebrate the pregnancy, claiming that the baby’s father was not in the picture, according to a friend.
Contrary to her claims, the father was actually living under Caron’s roof and was barely a teenager at the time of conception. Caron, now 34, was arrested on Jan. 15 on charges of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, and endangering the welfare of a child.
Despite the serious allegations, a judge released Caron from jail, ruling that she was not a flight risk.

Caron was working as a fifth-grade teacher at Middle Township Elementary School Number 2 in southern New Jersey when she got pregnant. She gave birth in 2019 when she was in her late 20s.
Her friend, Darlene Dowless, mentioned that Caron had a baby shower and received hundreds of dollars in gifts for the new baby, but did not disclose the father’s identity. Dowless recalled that Caron stated the father would not be involved in the child’s life.

The mystery of the baby’s paternity was unraveled when the teen’s father, the baby’s grandfather, noticed a striking resemblance between Caron’s child, himself, and his son in a Facebook post in December 2024. This led to an investigation by authorities, revealing that the boy was, in fact, the father.
Caron initially met her alleged victim when she taught him in elementary school. The boy’s family maintained a close relationship with Caron, allowing their children to spend nights at her house, where the inappropriate relationship between Caron and the boy began.
Reports suggest that the sexual relationship between Caron and the boy, who was born in 2005, started when he was just 11 years old. Shockingly, the boy’s sister claimed to have witnessed Caron sleeping with her brother in Caron’s bed.
Further investigations revealed that the teen, now between 19 and 20 years old, admitted to having a sexual relationship with Caron and fathering her child. The news of this disturbing case has shaken the community, with many expressing disbelief at the revelations.
Caron’s attorney, John Tumelty, did not provide an immediate response to the New York Post’s request for comment.
