Chilling Shooting Incident at Bronx Bodega Caught on Camera
Shocking video footage captures the harrowing moment bystanders flee for their lives during a brazen shooting at a Bronx bodega on Monday that left six people injured, including a mother who was used as a human shield and her young daughter.
Passers-by can be seen running down White Plains Road as gunshots rang out at G&W Grocery around 4:50 p.m., as shown in the video obtained by The Post.
A local shopkeeper ended up pulling an elderly woman inside his store for safety as the suspects fled the scene.
According to police, the gunmen chased two men into the bodega and opened fire, with the targets using a 40-year-old mother and her 12-year-old daughter as shields during the shooting.
The mother was shot in the stomach, while her daughter was hit in the right thigh, NYPD Chief of Department John Chell revealed at a briefing.
Chief Chell described the shooting as “heartless” and mentioned that the motive is still under investigation.
Four other individuals, all males aged between 18 and 21, sustained injuries to their legs, arms, and buttocks. They were transported to nearby hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
Witness Adama, who works at a local grocery store, shared, “After the shots, people started running. I had three customers in here, and they ran. One customer got his food, and then he ran. The other two customers didn’t wait. They were scared.”
He added, “When you hear something like that – boom, boom – usually it’s shooting. I stood there. I didn’t go outside. It’s not safe.”
Surveillance footage captured one man fleeing the scene, followed by two others seen running down the block as well.
Police confirmed that the suspects are still at large as the investigation continues.
