A 17-year-old girl was fatally stabbed outside a Queens subway station, becoming the latest victim of crime in New York City.
The tragic incident occurred on Queens Boulevard near the 46th Street station in Sunnyside around 9:30 p.m., as reported by the NYPD.
The unidentified teenage girl was stabbed in the neck and was pronounced dead after being rushed to Elmhurst Hospital.
Although a person of interest was taken into custody, no charges have been filed yet.
A knife was found at the scene, left on the ground beneath the elevated tracks.
Photos show a torn-open backpack and shoulder bag, along with blood-soaked paper towels on the floor.
This incident marks at least the seventh attack on teenagers in the city within the past two days.
Prior to this tragedy, two 15-year-old boys were stabbed outside a Bronx McDonald’s. Fortunately, both are expected to recover.
On the previous day, 16-year-old Mahki Brown was fatally shot by a gunman on a bike in Soho, and a 17-year-old boy was shot in the back near NYCHA’s Amsterdam Houses on the Upper West Side.
The injured teen is in stable condition, while the shooter remains at large.
In another incident on the same day, three 15-year-old boys were stabbed in separate attacks in the Bronx and Brooklyn.
One of the victims was slashed in the back of the head during a bus argument, while the other two were injured in Brooklyn.
