The New York Police Department is searching for a criminal known by the alias “El Burro” – the Donkey – for shooting a woman multiple times after she declined his advances at an underground dance event in the Bronx early Monday, as per police sources.
The 20-year-old lady stated that she was enjoying herself with friends in the basement of a building on 165th Street around midnight when an individual she recognized as “El Burro” offered her a drink and then began dancing with her.
However, he then crossed the line and grabbed her buttocks.
She pushed him away and went to the bathroom, according to sources.
A video from the NYPD shows the suspect dancing on a crowded dance floor wearing a white cap and white jacket.
While she was freshening up, the victim heard several loud noises and then realized she had been shot multiple times in her legs, arms, and hand.
Other attendees mentioned that “El Burro made a mistake” – holding him responsible for the shooting, sources stated.
Her friends quickly took her to Bronx Care Hospital just before 4 a.m., where she received treatment for injuries to her left hand, right elbow, right knee, and left leg, according to sources.
“El Burro” is characterized as a dark-skinned Hispanic male from Venezuela in his mid-20s to early 30s, 6-foot-3, and around 190 pounds.
