An NYPD officer was hit by a car and trapped between two vehicles in a dramatic crash in Manhattan on Friday morning.
The 26-year-old officer was on West 13th Street in the West Village when a black Dodge Charger collided with a sanitation street sweeper around 7:12 a.m., according to police.
The driver of the Dodge Charger lost control and hit the officer, trapping him between the police cruiser and the car.
The officer was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition for treatment.

The extent of the officer’s injuries is still unknown.
The driver, a 43-year-old man, was also treated at Bellevue Hospital and then taken into custody.
Charges are pending as the investigation continues.
