New NYPD video shows the mysterious masked person who authorities believe abandoned a newborn baby girl stuffed inside a tote bag in front of a Bronx apartment building.
The footage, released early Monday, shows the unidentified person walking on the rain-drenched Morrisania sidewalk Sunday morning with a hood pulled up over his or her head, wearing a black face mask and carrying a green tote bag.
The infant, who appears to be only a few days old — and was swaddled in blankets inside the tote bag — was dumped outside a building on Reverend James Polite Ave. near East 167th Street around 6 a.m., cops said.
The baby’s cries prompted someone to call 911, law enforcement sources said.
Cops spoke to the caller and then found the infant inside the dumped bag, sources said.
EMS workers brought the baby to Jacobi Medical Center, where she was listed in stable condition, police said.
Police were still trying Monday to track down the mystery bag carrier.
The person is shown in the footage wearing a black coat, white pants, and white sneakers, as well as glasses or sunglasses.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
