We previously hosted our Threads on @volokhc, but unfortunately, we lost access to the associated Instagram page, resulting in the loss of our Threads account.
The issue may have arisen when I initially labeled the account as “Volokh Conspiracy” and later changed it to “Eugene Volokh (Volokh Conspiracy).” It’s possible that Instagram required the name to be solely “Eugene Volokh,” but the error messages provided were unclear. Despite being informed multiple times that the account had been reinstated, it continued to be flagged. I attempted to submit photo IDs as requested, but they were deemed unreadable. Additionally, I encountered difficulties in changing the username to “Eugene Volokh,” if that was the necessary action.
If anyone can offer guidance on recovering the @volokhc page and possibly adjusting the name, I would greatly appreciate it. Fortunately, our @volokhc following was limited to around 20 followers (in comparison to over 600 on Bluesky within a similar timeframe), so I hope the transition will not inconvenience many individuals. For those who were following Threads @volokhc, please consider shifting to @volokhconspiracy. (Our Twitter, Mastodon, and Bluesky feeds will continue under @volokhc.)
